ABOUT US
A.E.B.C. is affiliated with the American Federation of Aviculture, American Budgerigar Society, American Cockatiel and Softbill Society, the Canary and Softbill Society and Responsible Pet Owners Alliance.

Founded in 1971, AEBC is the oldest non-profit 501(c)(3) bird club in San Antonio and among the largest bird clubs in Texas. The primary mission of the club is to promote avian education and does so, in part, by donating thousands of dollars annually to Texas A&M Veterinary School scholarships, the San Antonio Zoo bird and education departments, Last Chance Forever bird of prey rescue, American Federation of Aviculture, and other worthwhile organizations. The majority of these funds are raised by the semi-annual Bird Marts.

A.E.B.C. sponsors bird marts twice a year, The Fiesta Bird Mart in the Spring, and the Fall Bird Mart in the Fall, bringing people from all over the country with birds of all ages and species, bird cages, toys, playpens, books, seed, and other bird related items.

The Club publishes a monthly newsletter that contains fun and educational information of all aspects of breeding and keeping birds in captivity. Articles are written by veterinarians, breeders and pet owners. Upcoming bird marts, show schedules, club information, updates on legislation affecting not only breeders but also pet owners, classified ads, and much more. A library containing various books, magazines, articles, and VCR tapes on birds and bird related subjects is available to all A.E.B.C. members.

Our members have a wealth of information to share with one and all. Most of our members have been keeping and breeding birds for many years and are able to help with questions and problems of all aspects of bird care.

Alamo Exhibition Bird Club meets the fourth Sunday of each month at 2:30 pm at St. John’s United Methodist Church 2002 Bandera Rd, in Southwest San Antonio. The meetings feature a speaker on some aspect of bird behavior or care, a raffle, and refreshments. Visitors are always welcome but please leave your birds at home.

Membership dues are $15.00 per year, or $1.25 per month(s) remaining in the year. For more information call (210) 287-2073 or .
